Truli Wetsuits

Truli Wetsuits for women is the newest brand for scuba girls on the market. It is a fresh alternative to mainstream scuba gear companies with a complete focus only on high performance wetsuits specific to women. The most distinguishing feature of the wetsuits is the gorgeous fleece-lining that feels amazing against the skin and keeps the core warm. The business is a labour of love for passionate scuba girl and entrepreneur, Mia Toose, who first tried scuba diving in 2001 and then began her career as a dive instructor in 2009 and continues to still work in scuba while running Truli Wetsuits.

Like many women, Mia found it challenging to find a wetsuit that she truli loved. Considering she was virtually living in a wetsuit with her dive jobs at all-inclusive resorts, shops, and on scuba liveaboards, she became an expert at what worked, didn’t work, and listened carefully to what scuba girls wanted.

In 2013 Mia began sketching her first designs and researching neoprene and in 2014, she had her first prototype manufactured. She tested the wetsuit with hundreds of dives and more than twenty scuba girl guinea pigs who eagerly tried the wetsuit and gave feedback on areas of improvement resulting in a second prototype and final sample in 2015.

The Truli-Mi signature design was released in 2016. It features a 3.5mm neoprene thickness lined with fleece to keep the core warm. It is a sleeveless shorty with a front zip that allows girls to independently zip up with no velcro to catch hair, scratch skin or ruin bathing suits. The wetsuit is made of Ultraspan neoprene, which is very flexible and form fitting to all shapes and sizes.

The outside chest and back area are laminated with glide skin, which further maintains warmth on surface intervals and boat transits. The entire suit uses blindstitching, which is waterproof as opposed to the traditional flatlock stitching that mainstream wetsuits use. With respect to the environment, the manufacturer ensures an eco-friendly process that uses natural rubber to produce the neoprene as opposed to the chemically created rubber from petroleum that many other companies use.

This month, in response to the requests from scuba girls, the Truli-Mi is now available in Pashy Passion Pink in addition to Fireball Orange, Pot of Gold yellow, and Into the Blue blue. As well, the newest collection, the Truli-Capri in Harmony, featuring a longer leg and bright and beautiful colours caters to women who want to stand out in a sea of black wetsuits on the dive deck.

Truli Wetsuits recognizes that women who feel good in their gear and apparel perform better, possess confidence, and feel empowered to pursue their sports and adventure goals. Therefore, it is Mia’s ongoing mission to ensure that the wetsuits accommodate every female form. The style and cut is flattering for all figures and with an additional size now available for the new products, even more scuba girls can be a part of the Truli family. Stay tuned for even more women’s wetsuits that are true to the women who wear them!
